Medical scholarship
The Lincoln Hospital Foundation was founded in 1989 with the mission to support and enhance the care available at Lincoln Hospital through gifts and memorials which fund current and ongoing needs. Marie Braun started the Lincoln Hospital Foundation Medical Scholarship in 2008 with a vision to support the education of medical professionals who plan to return to rural healthcare. Since then, numerous donors have contributed to the scholarship.
The Lincoln Hospital Foundation will award a total amount of $3,000 to students who have been accepted into eligible medical areas of study. The number of awards given are determined by the number of applicants.
Applicants must be formally accepted into the following program types at any college or university:
- Nursing.
- Occupational Therapy.
- Physical Therapy.
- Pharmacy.
- Medicine.
Preference is given to applicants who have graduated from a high school in Lincoln County and who plan to return to rural healthcare, specifically Lincoln County, after they have graduated from their program.
