Women's Health is a Priority at the annual Too busy to care for your needs? Busy women throughout Lincoln County are the focus of the Women’s Health Extravaganza on the calendar for October and March of each year. The event, popular for its convenience, has been expanded over the years. We’ve added more providers and times for busy women to get those necessary tests done all at one time in one place. As women have so many responsibilities these days, they often cannot find time for their own healthcare. That’s why organizers focus on a varied, non-traditional schedule. Convenience, new technology, what women really want The event not only includes regular clinic hours, but appointments are available until 7 pm so women can get their three major exams – pap, breast exam and mammogram – after work. Medical providers are also available Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, so women with a busy family and work week can schedule an appointment. Another huge positive to the Extravaganza is the use of liquid-based pap smear technology that is 67 percent more accurate at diagnosing cervical cancer. This technology saves lives. Lincoln Hospital and North Basin Medical Clinics are very excited to be on the cutting edge in offering this to our patients. It is a vast improvement in diagnosis over traditional pap testing and Lincoln County women deserve the best! The pap and breast exams will be performed at the Davenport Clinic. Ladies will go to Lincoln Hospital for their mammograms with its state-of-the-art LoRad Mammography machine, making these three services available on the medical campus with one appointment. But that’s not all...All participants will receive a fun gift bag, health maintenance information and decadent chocolate delights, as dessert is a great reward for ladies who take the time to keep themselves healthy for their families. And if that isn’t treat enough, check out the savings! Remember, Lincoln Hospital does have two programs to help women with no insurance or inadequate coverage (high deductible, services not covered, catastrophic only policy) to get free breast and cervical cancer screens.
