As the Lincoln Hospital Foundation celebrates 17 years of making a difference in the lives of our neighbors, we know we can pause only briefly to reflect on past success — your success.

   Since 1989, Foundation volunteers have shared the commitment to high quality local healthcare with generous donors from across Lincoln County. We’re still committed — diligent and excited about our progress.

  These last couple years, the Foundation was able to fulfill it’s promise to purchase Portable Ultrasound Machine and a Braselow Pediatric Code Cart.

  With the Portable Ultrasound, scans can be done in the ER where precious seconds are crucial. Our surgeon, Dr. Deanna Huntwork, can us this exciting technology during breast biopsies and to visualize fluids that need to be drained. LTC and Acute Care can determine the amount of fluid in the bladder, which is currently done by catheterization.

    The Braselow Pediatric Code Cart will streamline pediatric resuscitation efforts in the ER. This aids staff by making size appropriate medical apparatus available quickly in high stress situations.

These highly useful pieces of technology will not only aid in patient comfort, but will save lives.

  The Zoll Bi-Phasic Cardiac Defibrillator is the latest in cardiac care. Because it uses less electrical charge to “jump start” the heart, it is more efficient and has fewer side effects such as burned or damaged skin tissue. Its cost is roughly $12,000.

  The soft Mammography paddles will greatly increase comfort of women having mammograms, while maintaining the high image quality we expect from our LoRad Mammography unit. Lincoln Hospital performs over 1,000 mammographies each year – saving lives of our sisters, mothers, aunts and daughters.
